The Mentors Collective
Bridging The Gap
The Mentors Collective (TMC) is a non-profit organisation focused on addressing the lack of diversity in the legal profession. We are dedicated to helping aspiring solicitors with diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential through one-on-one mentorship and specialised training. Through our mentor-mentee relationships, we hope to create a sense of belonging and bridge the gap between the legal profession and those who have been traditionally underrepresented. We are passionate about creating a more inclusive and diverse legal profession, and we strive to provide the necessary support and guidance to make this a reality. Join us and become part of a community of passionate individuals working together to bridge the gap.

We envision an ethnically diverse legal profession in the United Kingdom.

We Offer Our Mentees

1
A TMC Community
Tailored communication channels dedicated to providing mentees with a platform to connect with each other, share experiences and build their networks. We have a dedicated group for answering any ad-hoc questions that our mentees have. What started as a small platform of 20 mentees has now grown to nearly 100 mentees, all with the opportunity to lean on mentors, as well as each other, for support.
2
1-1 sessions
Mentors provide weekly opportunities for mentees to book informal 1-1 sessions. The sessions provide a personalised setting for mentees to have their questions answered in-depth, applications reviewed, and preparation for assessment centres finalised. TMC provides mentees with access to future legal professionals in a way entirely unheard of within the diveristy space today.
3
Interview Preperation Sessions
Our Interview Preparation Sessions are a non-judgmental and safe space for mentees to practise answering competency-based and strength-based questions in a setting similar to actual interviews and get feedback on their answers. Mentees also have the opportunity to watch other successful candidates answer some of the most common questions in assessment centre interviews.

Workshops
Routinely well-attended by our mentees, dedicated workshops form the backbone of our programme, taking the form of presentations and interactive activities covering topics ranging from commercial awareness, contract documentation and application guidance to interview etiquette and vacation scheme advice. Our workshops provide mentees with both the soft and technical skills needed to succeed in their commercial law journey.
